Welcome to Child Abuse Services
The Invisible Youth Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2007 in an effort to assist homeless street children in the United States. Our focus reaches past the streets and lends itself to deterrence, research, resources, seminars, training and workshops that are provided to the communities and via the Internet. Despite our motto "Advocating for America's Youth," our endeavors are focused on all homeless and at-risk youth with no regard to their geographic location. Mahatma Ghandi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world," and with that in mind, the Invisible Youth Network envisions better lives for children who cannot see it themselves.
The Department of Child Abuse Services, under the provisions of the Invisible Youth Network, seeks to expand the organization's core values to include relief for children who are facing a different set of problems: physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. As is often the case with at-risk youth, child abuse and homelessness are not mutually exclusive. Child maltreatment occurs at higher rates among families without a permanent residence or at best, having minimal financial security. It is the aim of this department to address child abuse in all facets, from awareness to recovery, in order to safeguard the most vulnerable members of a fractured household.
Strategic Goals for the Department
- To make child abuse information and resources readily accessible to the general public so that the public may recognize and report child abuse as it occurs.
- To develop a training curriculum (a guide of tips and advice) for prospective child abuse counselors and advocates of child abuse prevention.
- To provide various facets in which people can explore to prevent child abuse, including the garnering of support for appropriate legislation.
- To create a platform where individuals and companies can sign a pledge, support our cause, and join our movement in child abuse prevention.
- To encourage volunteers to become part of the youth recovery process in child abuse cases and connect them to serve among local organizations.
- To offer services to children and parents who have child abuse related issues, such as counseling support and chat room functionality.
- To coach/educate parents and those who want to become parents about the risk factors of ineffective parenting.
- To work on and supply online and in-person presentations geared for parents, teachers, civic groups, etc.
