A Call for Community Outreach

The 'Students for the Children' Campaign is a two-fold opportunity for high school and college students.
[1] Students are empowered to participate in various outreach tasks for abuse victims.
[2] Students are trained to bring positive change for children and be productive leaders in a global community.

Powered by our collaborators and departmental programs, but only available at participating institutions.

Volunteer Opportunities

Project CADET (Child Abuse Deterrence Education and Training)
A fun, interactive program for young kids (4-8 years of age) in which trained high school and college students teach children about what it means to be abused and how to respond to abusive situations. Each week, volunteers travel to area elementary schools and community centers in groups of two or more to conduct lessons, lead discussions, and perform activities that will help the youth better understand child abuse. Learning materials, such as Hausman's Kisses From Dolce, may be used as a springboard for the discussion session or a supplement to the lessons and activities.

Volunteer opportunities updated 08/03/2009.
